Message from the Executive Secretary

Hon Pharm Kenny Okojie

Welcome to the official website of the Edo State Drugs and Health Commodities Management Agency (EDHCMA). As the Executive Secretary, it is my honour to lead an institution that plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, affordability, and rational use of essential medicines and health commodities across Edo State. Evolving from the former Essential Drugs Programme and formally established by law on the 6th of June, our agency was created to institutionalize systems that guarantee quality healthcare delivery through effective pharmaceutical and logistics management. At EDHCMA, our mandate extends beyond the public sector—we are also committed to supporting private healthcare facilities in accessing standardized medicines and ensuring best practices in pharmaceutical care. We work closely with our partners, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to build a resilient and transparent drug supply chain that serves every citizen with integrity. We remain focused on improving health outcomes through innovation, capacity building, and accountability. I invite you to engage with us as we work towards a healthier Edo State. Thank you.

Edo State Drugs and Health Commodities Management Agency

The Edo State Drugs and Health Commodities Management Agency (EDODMA) was established by law on June 6 2023 to ensure the efficient procurement, storage, and distribution of quality-assured medicines and health commodities across public and private health facilities in Edo State. Evolving from the former Essential Drugs Programme, EDODMA is committed to improving access to essential drugs, reducing stock-outs, promoting accountability, and strengthening the health supply chain system. The agency plays a key role in ensuring that both public and private sectors benefit from a reliable, transparent, and sustainable drug management system that supports better healthcare outcomes statewide.
